QCVIALZ has an enormous selection of 10ml vials, and choosing the right 10ml vial for your vial packaging needs can be confusing. Below are several criteria to help you consider which 10ml vial is best for your application.

10ml Vial Construction Material: all QCVIALZ 10ml vials are manufactured using USP Type 1 borosilicate glass. This includes both our clear 10ml vials, amber 10ml vials, non-sterile and sterile 10ml vials. USP Type 1 borosilicate glass is the highest quality glass for the most critical applications, including pharmaceutical, biological, lyophilization and cosmetics packaging.

10ml Clear vs 10ml Amber Vials: we have both clear and amber USP Type 1 borosilicate glass 10ml vials. Clear Type 1 borosilicate vials are suitable for most applications, where amber Type 1 borosilicate glass is used for packaging light sensitive materials. Our 10ml amber Type 1 borosilicate vials meet spectral transmission requirements set forth by both USP and EP pharmaceutical standards.

20mm and 13mm Crimp Finish: QCVIALZ stocks both the standard 20mm crimp 10ml vials (20mm outer rim diameter with 13mm hole opening), as well as a unique 13mm crimp finish 10ml vial (13mm outer rim diameter with 7mm hole opening). Our 13mm crimp finish 10ml vials have a crimp finish that is normally found only on smaller 2ml and 3ml vials, and are selected when the end user withdraws vial contents using a smaller, narrower hypodermic needle (see above image).

Sterile and Non-Sterile 20mm crimp 10ml Vials: QCVIALZ offers 20mm crimp 10ml vials in both sterile and non-sterile formats. Our sterile 10ml vials are available in both clear and amber glass, in both pre-sealed and open - unsealed vaieties.

Our pre-sealed 10ml sterile vials (ALK Abello brand) are sterilized and assembled in the USA. Our ALK pre-sealed 10ml vials are available in small, convenient shelf pack quantities of 25. Pre-sealed 10ml sterile vials must be both filled and emptied via use of a hypodermic syringe (see above left image).

Our open, unsealed sterile 10ml vials (by Gerresheimer and others) are arranged in hermetically sealed, double bagged plastic trays. Unsealed sterile vials must be filled and sealed by the end user in an ISO cleanroom environment or inside a sterile, laminar flow hood. Seals and stoppers aren't included, and must be purchased separately (see above right image).

What is a Standard Open Sterile Vial Tray vs Open Nested Sterile Vial Tray?

QCVIALZ open sterile 10ml vials are available in clear and amber in both a traditional vial tray (above left) as well as a nested vial tray (above right). The traditional sterile vial tray has 10ml open sterile vials packed "glass-against-glass" and is suitable for most customers. The sterile nested vial tray, used in packaging our clear and amber open sterile ISO 10R vials, has an intrinsic benefit of keeping each vial separate from other glass vials in the tray. This greatly reduces cosmetic imperfections of chips, scratches and  damages during transit and storage. In addition, the open sterile 10ml nested vial tray can act as a sterile vial rack used during filling processes in a cleanroom environment. SEE OUR NESTED STERILE OPEN VIALS
